Janelle and I took the day to explore Firenze (Florence) sans children. Thanks mom and Iris. While Firenze is awash with tourist it was beautiful and astounding.

The commercialism, locals trying to make a living by hustling some € out of you, while everywhere, was not so bad. What got to me was the fact that this was the first place we been so far where all the tourist surrounding us wanted to go to the same place, at the same time as we did. There is nobody to blame just a lesson learned on timing, and patience.

The only site we saw the inside of was the Uffuzi Gallery, which mostly consists of the former holdings of the Midici Family. Including a room full of Botticelli works, including the famous Birth of Venus, which Janelle is in front in the picture above. The half smile, half 'I am going to kill you', and all worried look from my wife is from her deep seeded fear of breaking rules. You see there are no pictures a allowed. You know how I feel about rules. Opposites do attract.

Crowds or not, Firenze is an amazing place, we will return some day if possible. Maybe even tomorrow.
